TB-500 is a synthetic version of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide present in virtually all human and animal cells. It plays a central role in actin regulation and cellular repair.
Key Research Areas
- Promotes actin polymerisation and cell migration essential for wound healing
- Studied for accelerated recovery from muscle, tendon and ligament injuries
- Supports angiogenesis and new blood vessel formation
- Exhibits anti-inflammatory properties in soft tissue models
- Crosses the blood-brain barrier โ researched for neurological repair
Mechanism of Action
TB-500 sequesters G-actin monomers via its LKKTET motif, regulating the actin cytoskeleton and enabling rapid cell migration to injury sites. It also upregulates metalloproteinases involved in tissue remodelling.
